Going... Going... GONE!

Looks like the little frog planter has a new home! There are still a few hours left on the auction, but he does have a bidder (and several more "watching"), so he'll be getting a new home this week. I have plenty of other items, so this will not make a very big dent in the inventory, but you gotta start somewhere!

More Treasures

There have been several more auctions since my last post, and I continue to test the waters at both OldAndSold.com and eBay... little success either place... don't know if it's the world economy or what! But... I keep acquiring "treasures," and hopefully, somebody will like them as much as I do before long, or we are going to be overrun!!!

Here's something I got a couple of weeks ago that I think is really cute -- bought at the estate sale of Mrs. Elizabeth Massey. Her daughters were friends of my mother, and she and her husband operated our PigglyWiggly! She is a lovely lady, now 91 and in an assisted living facility. This is a McCoy pottery piece -- frog and lotus flower. It has a hairline crack, but still holds water, so it would make a darling little planter. I bought several pieces of McCoy at this sale, and all are quite nice. If you like old things, I list at OldAndSold.com under the username Songwriter57.

Yahoo Auctions Big Disappointment

Well, this was a disappointment. YahooAuctions' seller's tool would not upload my listings, and then it tried to make me connect to the internet via, of all things... AOL!!! I absolutely DESPISE AOL, and would NEVER use them.

So, beware... YahooAuctions comes with strings, apparently. I've filed a complaint via their feedback tool, and we'll see what they have to say. Meanwhile, I'm sticking with OldAndSold.com and eBay.

Another New Auction Site

Move over, eBay... there is another FREE auction site I'm trying... YahooAuctions! It became free to list there as of June 2006. Since Yahoo is such a powerful "player" on the world-wide web, I figure it's worth a shot! You can view auctions at http://auctions.yahoo.com/. Thanks for looking!

New Place to Sell Antiques/Collectibles!

I have just discovered a new website for auctioning antiques/collectibles. It's www.oldandsold.com. Please check it out! I will be adding many of my things there soon, so keep visiting!

Check Out These Cool Old Dolls!

Take a look at these cool old dolls I bought recently at an estate sale. First, look at this little baby... isn't it adorable?! This crawling baby is marked ©1985 Playmates. It is in near-mint condition - still crawls beautifully - takes 2 AA batteries -- switch is on the tummy. This doll has on its original clothing... a sunsuit that ties at the neck and has a ruffle on the backside.

This doll measures 10" long from the tip of its head to the tip of its toes, and 3 1/2" across. The body is hard plastic, and the hair is molded composition. This is one adorable baby, and you can't help but laugh when you flip the switch and it starts to crawl across the table or floor.

I'm selling it for $10.00, plus shipping and handling.

The other doll is a Tammy doll in her original clothing. I think she is from the 60's or early 70's. She stands 11.5 inches tall and is approximately 3" across the shoulders. Her long golden hair is in good shape for a doll of this age. The facial features are intact and the painted eyes just seem to dance! She almost seems to be alive and comes from a smoke-free home.

The doll is marked Ideal Toy Co. BS-12.

I have seen others like her sell for as much as $35, but I'll take $25, plus shipping.

If you are interested in either of these dolls, e-mail me at songwriter57@hotmail.com. Thanks!
